So, last week consisted of a pamper evening at Artizan hair salon, a Bath Business Bake Off & a private viewing of the new fashion illustration exhibition at David Simon Contemporary. Quite the mix but all equally lovely.
We were invited along to the ‘Spring into Summer’ event by the team at Artizan on Bartlett Street to showcase some of our best pre-owned designer pieces. We took a small selection of handbags, shoes and sunglasses and chatted to client
about styling, fashion and their favourite designers. The evening was a huge success for Zac and the gang at Artizan, complimentary hair styling and make up tutorials were available to all, along with plenty of bubbles. Keep your ears and eyes peeled for the next one, it’ll be bigger and even better & definitely worth an RSVP.
On Friday we took part in the Bath Business Bake Off for Comic Relief…the brief was to create a cake that represented our business and was entirely edible. Mum and I decided on a Chanel Flap Bag – “how hard can it be?”…well. Making about 60 chain links out of crumbly fondant icing is enough to make anybody crazy. True to form we left ourselves with nowhere near enough time so were forced to get the cake done in one evening….
Four and a half hours and a few arguments about buttercream later, we were pretty pleased with the end result! The cake itself was a deliciously buttery Madeira sandwiched
with lemon buttercream and homemade blackberry jam. Unfortunately we came second (with one point in it!) to Nick Brain Hairdressing but the event raised lots of money for an awesome charity. We’ll have to attempt a Birkin to win next year’s we think!
Finally, if you do get a chance to pop up to David Simon Contemporary on Bartlett Street, their current exhibition especially for Bath in Fashion is exceptional. It’s a collection of fashion illustrations by some incredibly talented women and we fell in love with every piece. Well worth a visit before it finishes at the start of April.
Once you’ve done that, pop next door to Article, filled with lovely things for the home and garden and a small but beautifully formed selection of speciality flowers (to treat yourself with!)
Next week is the big one: Bath In Fashion.
